I'm getting insurance quotes and I'm wondering does the Evo VIII come with any sort of anti-theft system? Also, for the NY Evo owners, what insurance company are you with? Whats your cost?

I live in NY and I have Geico. As far as anti-theft I think all we have is a immobilizer, at least in the 03's. With my current plan I pay $116 a month, this is with full coverage.

 

I've been told the key is chipped had to cut the key in half and hide it in the car to get my remote-start to work.

 

The immobilizer is basically a fuel cut right? $116 a month is pretty damn good, especially for an Evo. Do you have other cars on your plan, or just a really clean driving record?

 

I beleave the immobilizer is a anti-theft device that does not allow the car to be started without the key. I do have one ticket 70in a 65, the rest are parking tickets. Also i did take drivers ed and defensive driving.
