Interesting, didn't know that. Guess different departments do it different ways... local law enforcement uses ambulances to transport the dead... they use the paddy wagon at the concerts (i.e. Greatful dead...) 100s of arrests...

So I am still confused. like someone said before, how did you see them driving your car away when you were in the paddywagon. You cant see out of those things. Also, why did you give him your keys?
If you refuse to sign a citation you get taken into custody. The part where your car was taken for a joy ride is nonsense. The police call a tow truck. Fairy tales usually begin with "Once upon a time." Next time (if you dont' get laughed off of this board first) why not tell the facts straight up.

N. 2401 fullerton it looks like. the court date makes sense since in IL it is usually about 3 months after your ticket/arrest. the officer made a clerical mistake that im sure everyone has done at some point and time and considering he seems to have made several mistakes, this one is no big deal. i have never seen a ticket like this in IL, maybe it is a chicago thing. the ones I get are long and thin and when you get arressted you usually have several other normal sized documents. if you were arrested the would have searched you several times, put you in cuffs, put you in a holding cell, made you sign a list of items they took from you, and held you for several hours. maybe you didn't get arrested though. what is the first letter of your last name WHIP and your birthdate? if my phycic powers are correct your birthday is feb 16th.
i feel i wasted my time reading this. on the off chance it is true, here is my .02. call the ACLU (they will hire a lawyer, get the officer fired, and get you some financial reimbursement for your new clutch) after you get off of the phone with them, then call all the local news channels and get the story heard. they will interview officers involved, your cousin who picked you up, and you. good luck..... i guess.

I don't know guys... I kind of believe him. He got the ticket for you guys to prove the incident for the stereo at least happened, we're still not 100% sure of the whole story...don't Paddy Wagon's have cameras too? It'll prove something...
basically, get a lawyer and you'll get some money for your burnt clutch...the officers should be fired.
good luck. let us know. I don't think you officially got arrested...but it does suck sitting in the back while they took it for a joy-ride...but to prove they took it for a joy ride is hard...I mean, if the road or the paddywagon camera showed he peeled out and showed his rate of acceleration, then you can prove he did beat on it...
also if the paddywagon had a camera, it would have recorded the time the officer drove your car, then back at the impound yard, it'll record what time he got in, basically do the math and you can figure how fast he was going in that distance, might prove a bit more info too...
good luck

Some Police Officers are real @ssholes. I believe this kind of thing happens. Heck, all last week, we've been getting heckled at our own private garage by cops. Over here, people are more scared of the police than the criminals.
