Could those shafts be any beefier?

And that turbo/manifold setup looks like a pissed off alien.

In the same fashion that the Evo 8 has a twin scroll design with divided turbine housing and twin wastegates this set up copies that basic premise 100%

The concept is to get more spool up and low end response - which we did in spades

I could not believe it when I hit 39 psi in 1st gear !

Yes - I am a nut !!!!!!!!!

Considering that I was taking a huge risk just slapping an unknown turbo for the 1st time on an Evo 8 which we had no idea if it would even work - at $2300 it was certainly not a cheap gamble

I predict that the Gt40 will become a very popular application on Evo 8 's

As far as my sanity - I think any racer operates with limited logic, reason and connection to what is practical or sane. In my never ending quest to learn more about how to make power and about engine tuning I think that I am capable to try just about anything possible.

I am excited about the new set up and even more excited to get some time to wrench on the car when I get back from this long week of tuning in Florida and Chicago

BTW - I should point out that I owe credit for this idea to David Buschur who was the one who located a very hard to obtain GT40R for me and who directed me in this direction. Those Gt40R turbos are very hard to get a hold of and in huge demand so I consider myself lucky to even havd gotten one

This is what it did on the low pressure wastegate springs on low boost and maxed out 1000 injectors

Since then I added 1600 injectors and stronger wastegate springs

I will know in about 10 days what is up
