Credit for amazing vendors and parts

I have been a bit busy with some circuit racing and prepping my car for the next race I am going to. Anyways, I have been very busy between work and working on my car but I thought I have to post few thanks for some seriously well made parts and great tunes. I have taken my EVO to a 6 hours event last week with total of 400 miles of on track time. I thought that things might break and fall apart but I was wrong. Although I pushed the car pretty well in the last day I still think that I could have pushed it more but I still believe that the following parts were great.

Works product were amazing period. I don’t know how Works design their parts but they are built tough very though. Their SS brake lines are work of art and helped my brakes a lot. Their exhaust was great too. I have their shift knob and that thing is a joy to shift with on the track.

AL,

All I can say is thank you, 400 miles of boost and hard runs with no issues. I am very happy with your safe and powerful tune.

Last is the SSautochrome manifold.... yes I don’t want to hear another Honda guy saying they crack because I could not crack it there with 400 miles of heat and rain. The thing was carrying a heavy 3071 turbo by itself and it performed flawlessly. I am not saying buy one because I am removing mine and putting the stock manifold back on all I am saying is this thing is though and if you are for the bling bling then buy it. It won’t give you much WHP if any but hey it looks nice and some people like that. I have no more time for bling and my car is ready to get some rolecage and some real gutting soon (or maybe I have to buy some track car, still thinking) ....

EVOs are fun on the track and they save your @ss with the all wheel drive. I encourage every EVO owner to take their EVO to see what it can do because owing an EVO with out taking it to the circuit track is like dating a hot women that you can't have sex with...

Good luck everyone.

your still running the atp 3071 kit correct? Do you have any issues with boost taper even on the long stretches at the track in upper gears? What kind of numbers are you putting down on pump gas?

Thanx!

At the track especially the one I went to its a bit hard to look at your speed because one small mistake and you will end up on the wall like a bug ..

I don’t know where that myth came from (3071 turbo either ATP or T3/T4 hot side ) tapering???? Nope I don’t see any tapering at all I stick with my 23~24 psi to almost 8K.

After that track day I have changed my view on cars and mods in general. I had a plan to add cams and so on but now I am not going to add any power parts for my EVO. Trust me that the power of stock EVO on the track was more than enough. I mean I had too much power and I could not use it all or my *** was going to hit the wall. Many professionals saw the car and said too much power no need.

If everything starts from zero I would have either added exhaust and some basic tune or kept everything stock. I would have added some serious suspension setup and role cage with some racing seats, 5 point harness and bigger brakes. EVOs are fast stock and there is no reason to add power until you know how to control it.

I am shopping for a rear wheel drive car (M3 or maybe 200SX, 240SX, or even a 350Z) these cars can do some serious damage at the track.

Or maybe I can stop spending money for 6 months and save a down payment for GT3

I say keep the evo and do some suspension mods, maybe some minor brake upgrades and a bolt in roll cage (not a full unstreetable setup)

You are not a full time racer so there is no need to go all out. Make your evo perform a little better (ie: handleing and braking) and add some saftey and enjoy your time at the track. I know you love driving it on the street so dont take it to the point that it becomes uncomfortble to drive around town.

This is my plan for the evo, i know we can take them to the track together and have a fun little rivalry going so I say keep it. I mean for god sakes I got you the 91 civic for a daily so you can drive that while you evo has some down time.

I guess what i'm saying is enjoy the gift of a car that is sitting in your garage, feel lucky to own one everytime you get in it. There are MANY MANY people that wish they where in your shoes

an almost stock NSX is imposible to keep up with, except in a straight line.
