used sports meter gauges

I've searched lots and found related information, but not exactly what I'm looking for. I just bought a basic VIII, with the stock radio in the upper DIN location, and nothing in the cubby in the lower spot. I'd like to buy a used OEM gauge pack (someone is selling one from an MR) and install it in the lower location, like OEM.

Besides the gauges, what is necessary to install a used set into my car?
Does the cubby pop out to reveal a wiring harness that simply plugs in?
Is the boost gauge mechanical or electric? Do I need to route a line to the boost gauge?
Will I need a face plate?
Is the factory ~$50 installation kit applicable in this case?

Not sure if I'm asking all the necessary questions. If anyone has done this, I appreciate you sharing your experience. Thanks.

Yes you need the install kit. It's the same one that you use to mount the CD changer.

No, there is no wiring harness. You will have to run the cables and hoses yourself, including the boost line.

You will not need a face plate, like the factory stereo, the cluster is slightly greater than DIN sized so there is no gap.

Thanks for the help, Sailor. Is it a good assumption that when buying the gauges new from dealer that all the stuff behind the gauges (splice and tube for boost, thermocouple for oil temp, and wires for voltmeter) are included with the gauges? Thanks again.

p.s. (rant) I wish I had a parts department within a hundred miles that actually stocks this to be able to open the box and look at it.
