NHTSA insurance costs comparisons

I searched and didn't come up with anything, so I apologize if this is a repost:

I was poking aroung the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration's site www.nhtsa.gov and found this:

Insurance cost comparison

The Evo is the absolute worst of any car on the market, with a 514 rating (look at small cars, 4 door models). Yikes!

514 thats a joke right? if i read that site correctly, with 100 being the average that means the evo is 5 times more likely to have a claim or something like that than any other small car??? just to compare whats the sti at? it cant be far off

That has to be a joke.. unless the insurance companies want us to spend money we save on mods (compared to the STI) on insurance. I guess someone has to keep the fear in us so we don't all drive crazy... sad to think insurance premiums have more effect than cops.

Its not a joke people, think about it. Which one of the cars on that list has an all aluminum front end with a big intercooler up front? Only the Evo. Most accidents are usually front end collisions like rear ending someone, so of course the hood and fenders and intercooler are the first to eat it. I have never priced the aluminum body parts but just a guess that they are likely double the steel counterpart pieces.
