Anyone know of a safety mode on Evo's. I know this mode exsists on hondas and other cars. What i mean is if u upgrade to a full exhaust with test pipe. And do not get an 02 simulator your check engine light will come on. Because your 02 sensor is like ahh theres some serious emissions going on here. When that happens on cars with a safety mode it cuts some power out, not sure if it runs lean or rich, but in any case you lose power. So im wondering if anyone knows of this?

 

i am pretty sure the car won't go into a "safe-mode" from the after the cat o2 sensor. you will throw a code for it though if you have a test pipe because of the extra exhaust flow. i have not felt any difference in power when i put on my test pipe and would throw a code because of it. i since then have done a mechanical o2 fix to get rid of that problem. good luck.

damn car runs rich as hell in safe mode. i was getting like 6 mpg. but the ses light cause of the modifed exhaust does not enter the car into safe mode. its just a an annoying light
