You should NOT be leaned out on the low end with the S-AFC, unless you have some aftermarket fuel components that cause you to run richer at all rpms. If you log the car in stock form, it runs lean below 4k, and between 4-5k, it runs right at optimum AFRs (12 -> 11.5). If you remove fuel below 4k, then you are increasing the AFR further above 12.0, which isn't safe, although you aren't at full boost at that point either.

Do you have a fuel pump and/or injectors? When you log your runs, what .02s do you see from 2-4k? I add fuel at 4k and 4.5k (I don't tune below 4k due to only 8 NE-points) and still see .89v/.91v, which are on the low end (closer to 12.0 AFR).

Nah, they don't, but that's good, because it makes us emissions friendly and capable of decent mpg as long as we keep off the boost and below 5k rpm (no fun).

As soon as you're broken in, we can start the tuning lessons. Now that I figured out the stupid "boost leak" problem, I'm back to normal and able to tune at will.

Kee-rist. Get some velcro strips w/sticky backs to put on the damn floor mats (I do NOT have that problem w/my '03) and have the dealership fix the rattle at scalp-level.

If you're gettin' 300 miles a tank you're not drivin' the damn car.

37K and lovin' it - even with my minor *****es ...

So that's 22+ mpg? That's pretty good for a ~280hp AWD car. I more upset the gas tank isn't any bigger. The EVO is very sensitive to type of driving. I just get 200 miles out of full city/stop&go driving. If I take a non stop 30 min country drive, then I can reach 230 miles.

I've been getting 25.5mpg from the Works drop in filter.. I've got other mods but recently replaced my k&n with the Works. Before I was getting 22-23mpg highway. I rarely run a whole tank out so I'm not really sure about overall milage.

I think it depends on where you live and how you drive... There is very little flat land here and the weather has been pretty hot and humid. I'm sure the A/C will cut down on milage as well.

As for the rattles.. I had a few myself but after a while they seemed to disappear

Agreed on mats, also brake squeeks

I also have an 05 GSR. The mats are like cardboard ****. I've tried a few aftermarket mats (MOMO) and others, but they just don't fit right on the drivers side. I've resigned myself to ordering at least one new mat set from the dealer every year on top of cheap rubber mats for winter.

The other problem I've had is loud brake squeeks at low speed. Took it to the dealer twice for checks and all is OK. They said the hi-perf brake system is just going to squeek sometimes. It comes and goes but always annoys. I now have about 5k on the car.

No other rattles. Tight.

Don't know about mileage. I have a short commute, so most miles are on the weekend. I go 10 days between fills.

I LOVE THIS CAR.

I had the window squeak in my 05 as well. Now I got 13000mi and it went away. The drivers side window and the passenger side windows all seem loose somehow but dont leak...brakes squeak when dirty. Other than that, I love the thing.

03' Til death do us part!

This car has irratating points I'll admit, but nothing I can't fix. I will replace every single piece of this car and beat on it indefinately as long as they make parts, zipties and ductape!

Best car eVr.

You know what I hate about my EVO?!? That the dealership won't let me take her out whenever I want, and the cops get all pissed off when I forget my keys inside the dealership and have to use a hanger or some sort to get the door open.

You may want to have them pull the brake pads if they haven't already. I'm not sure about the 05 models but I was getting a lot of noise out of mine for a while.. Turns out my front pads were cracked! (replaced under warrenty) BUT squeeling is normal with high performance pads.. although the stock brembo pads are really soft IMHO.
