I think getting a used exhaust is a pretty good idea, as long as you can confirm that it's not damaged. It won't be as pretty when you first install it, but after a thousand miles, you won't notice the difference anyway. This is a great way to save money, imo.

As for fuel management, S-AFCs have been sold and re-sold for years and years, because it is not something that is easily damaged, so you don't really have to worry about the quality. I can't speak for other fuel management systems, but I would be more skiddish on buying something like this used, since it can so easily destroy the engine.

Used parts are *generally* a good idea.....if you're purchasing from someone reliable like an EvoM member. There's lots of great deals to be had around here.

However, I personally wouldn't go to Ebay and buy used parts for my MR.

Anything that is a pipe isn't a bad idea to buy used. Afterall, it's just a pipe. Clean it if it makes you feel better about it I guess. As long as there's no dents or rust or anything obvious like that, it should be fine.

Electronics can come incomplete without all the right wiring, and are easily broken by the previous user. I wouldn't buy something like that used.

damn near every part on my car was bought used off EvoM members. In fact the only thing i bought new out of the box was my forge DV, Shift knob, catch cans, radiator hoses, and intake pipe. EVERYTHING ELSE WAS USED INCLUDING MY CWEST KIT.

Hell im buying an exhaust this weekend off another member.

as for electronics, confirm you are getting everything (harnesses, wiring etc.) and make sure it can be reset to factory settings. b/c every car is different and someone else settings may not work for you. Only thing i wouldnt buy would be a reflash'd ECU for the reason i just stated.

Don't buy a stock ECU from anyone unless you just want to replace yours permanately. Regardless of what they tell you, the hassle and cost of switching imobolizers and trips to the dealership are not worth it and in the end
you can NOT key two ECUs to the same car. Only posting this becuase I always see them for sale here, and I looked into it.
