Thanks guys for the sympathy....I did have a car alarm, I'm positive if kept him from stealing anything else...he was literally in and out in less than 10 seconds. Maybe I'll buy another one and camp out with a 9mm.....if he comes back i;m not going to be in much of a mood to talk.

Sorry to hear, this has happened to me a few times, and the only thing you can really do to be safe is take down your radar detector everyt ime you leave the car. I do that now, in fact I just try not to speed around town, and I leave the valentine at home for road trips.

yeah i suspect some sort of an inside job. Not a good friend obviously...but whoever took the detector knew it was in there one way or another.

sucks man, hopefully your insurance will cover it.

damn that thief had to have some ***** or he was a complete idiot... (my vote for the latter) breaking into a car in a lighted driveway when people in the house are awake??? wow...

did you see a car driving away or something?

Nah i saw nothing...we were literally outside in 10 seconds because we were awake. Never saw a thing...he ran into our side yard, through the back yard...to another street back behind my house and probably had a car waiting there.

The guy is a complete idiot...the neighborhood is patrolled too....and it now being patrolled more heavily as a result. I will also be setting up motion controlled lighting and perhaps some sort of interface showing when a motion light has been triggered inside. It sounds pretty expensive and complicated, but its really not....just a matter of running wire.

Anyways its a long shot, but if any of you come up with someone wanting to sell a V1 all the sudden lacking books and all the cords send me a PM...if they are from Indiana be very suspicious. Thanks guys

sucks bro, but why do u leave s**t like ur V1 in ur car @ night? thats just a easy meal ticket for thieves. they look for stuff they can re sell. advise-get alarm and take s**t like radars, face plates, phones, jewerly, money, bills, expensive sunglasses, etc. out of of car if plan 2 be away for long periods of time or @ night.

TRUST ME i had it happen 2 me twice in 2 different cars!

I have an alarm...a loud one..that also sets off and alarm on the remote if its getting broken into. The reason I didn't take it down is because its an extremely low crime area and heavily patrolled. I know you can't be too safe, but the thought never crossed my mind that someone would smash out my window to only get a radar detector in the middle of my lit up driveway with a loud *** visible alarm system. Even my house is situated in such a way that its not very strategic place to sneak around.

Lesson learned I guess.....not nearly as bad as the lesson the little ****er is going to learn if i find out who was involved.

r u knieve? thieves find it a challenge 2 brake into cars in great, secured areas. they get kind of a high from it. + they know that those cars usually have better sh*t in them! do as u wish but my way works! dont give them any idea of what u have. great that u have a alarm and be more careful. loluck

no no... killasweep, u got it all wrong. 9mm jus lacks the stopping power. i have a .40 jacketed hollow point... perfect for individuals such as these. buy that sig, put up a fake camera to scare away ppl, and post up a sign that says beware of dog and .40 cal bout whop your ***
