Stock boost?

Stock boost on the EVO peaks at about 19 psi, and then tapers off as you climb towards redline? Is this correct. I am more curious than anything, and just want to make sure my boost gauge is reading correctly. I have read that's what it is.

electric boost controler is good and nice...but you you want to save a little money, manual boost controler will do the job and it is easier to use.

19 psi if it's a 03 or 04 evo, the 05 is about 20.5 psi

not entirely correct. you need atleast a turboback and boost controller to get rid of boost taper.

^^ and if you have these things you may as well get a tune, there are other things to worry about when you raise boost...raising boost alone just to get rid of taper isnt the way to go, get a tune. That way air/fuel will be adjusted, ignition timing, and of course boost.

It was stated on the Salesman Training Video...

Get a Tune or a mail in flash (I have the Works P2) and you will see 19-20 lbs all the way to redline. At least I think so, I havent fully broken in my car yet, so I havent seen beyond 6000 rpm/19 lbs yet.

Do you have an 05? If so it's more than 19.
