Are stock EVO pistons cast or forged?

i did a search, and basically all i could find was a few people saying they are not forged.

then i remember a few months ago someone saying they were some sort of hybrid, like the top is made of one thing and the skirt is made of another.

any answers?

Forged, but people still go with new better ones, same with the rods. But the one question I can't answer is people say for FI, 8.5 is the optimal compression ratio, yet everyone that is sold is 8.8:1 or 9:1, even the Evo stock is 8.8. But yeah they are forged and as much as people hate Boost-Solutions when they were around, they did test 42 psi on the stock block and head besides cams. Isn't saying it is reliable but I would say if you are going to be revving to 8500-9000 a lot, and boosting like 28+ psi then it would be wise to redo it.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, and also maybe answer my compression question.

I ask because Next year I wanna do a rebuild and possible stroke.

"The U.S.-specification Lancer Evolution’s 4G63 utilizes a revised and reinforced cast iron block filled with a reciprocating assembly consisting of a durable forged steel crankshaft, and 150 mm forged steel connecting rods; cylinders are filled with low compression (8.8 to 1) pistons cast in durable, lightweight AC8A (T6) aluminum designed to withstand forced induction cylinder pressures for an extended period"

lightweight AC8A (T6) aluminum for the PISTONS? Is that considered or almost like Forged quality?

Pistons are definitely cast....almost no OEM will use a forged piston.

8.8 is the ideal compression ratio for forced induction .... this is after multiple tests were done supposedly ...
The pistons are forged ....
That is why the EVO is special
