Don't know if anyone posted this yet?
They hated the turn knob seat adjustment
Maybe i should swap them out
Mitsubishi invited several automotive journalists to spend a day driving a pack of pre-production Evolutions at Phoenix Firebird RaceTrack. Motortrend perhaps?

And what exactly were the conditions surrounding the "tranny exploding," and why haven't we heard this before.
For example, we all heard about the Evo spinning out in Germany (can't spell Nurbur....).

SC~who is swallowing a huge grain of salt with this statemant
Hailz!
You may recall, that about 3 weeks ago, I mentioned on a thread about the Slippage in the Delivery Dates, that it was because of Tranny Troubles. I still cannot reveal my source, but you all thought it was because of the slow production times on the CF Rear Spoiler.
maybe my rumor is the valid one..... maybe someone with more concrete evidence will inform us.

Wow, that makes more sense. Thank you! I recall evo 7 had clutch problems not tranny. Perhapse changing the diffs to open, and center to visous had cause some problems. Usually production change cause problem and producing an already good running car shouldn't be any.
I wonder what is wrong with the trans. This is seriously something to consider if mitsubishi put a band-aid fix. What to do?

hehe you guys are funny...sorry i should've been more descriptive but had to step away because i had to attend a meeting....
anyways, i learned this info out back in early Feb. the reason i didn't post it was because many of you like to take rumors with a grain of salt... *Secret Chimp* (how's it taste?)...i totally understand where you are coming from though...
well in my reading, it said that there was journalist testing at Firebird International in Phoenix...and that's where the 2nd and 3rd gears of the tranny SUPPOSEDLY went...i didn't know how much to believe considering i don't know the person...just reading what he was told from his friend...
well now that gtr has posted that above article, it confirms that there were journalist "testing" in Phoenix, AT Firebird International...which is why i posted what i did...
in my opinion, just like Jonasan50 stated, they had alittle too much "fun" with the car...after all, with all of the "romping" around with the car, something was bound to break...i wouldn't be too concerned considering that this was the car that has gone through many drivers...
here is the link to the board where i read it...yes, it is a chicago ricer board, hence the hesitancy of my post... take it as you will...okay that's it..
PS...you may have to register to read it.

I hope it was their 6-speed which slowed down their production not the 5speed we are getting. However, i would like to know the problems.

Hailz!
To be more specific, my source told me they had "Production Line problems with the 5-speed, and therefore they switched the line over to the 6-speeds while they worked out the problems on the 5er."
Exactly WHAT the problem was... was never mentioned to me.

noooo. that means our trans is not bullet proof like people claimed. Well i hope they fixed the problem.
