Is our differentials just weak?
I hear of people dumping clutches on other AWD cars, is it just our cars have weak diffs that allow us not to dump clutch? How does our differentials compare to cars like:
Subaru WRX STi
Skyline GTR
Mitsu 3000GT VR4
and such

Yes IMO it is weak. While I believe it can last if taken car of and not abused too much, it still cannot handle the abuse of other AWD cars. If you plan to race or modify, just upgrade it. It's the price you pay for fun.
They are "dumping" clutches because they are drag racing their Evos with a stock clutch. You have to remember our stock clutch is weak to begin with if you drive the Evo hard. Also the Evo is not a real drag car, it is built as a road/track car, that's why it's AWD. Have you ever seen a real drag car that is AWD?
the diffs arent that weak, the clutches are made weak because they are cheaper to replace. if you upgrade the clutch, and dont abuse you should be fine, granted a person isnt suppose to drag launch an evo. it just wasnt built for that kind of abuse, it was made to autocross. if you drag you evo, plan on having to upgrade the whole drive train eventually, because it will break alot sooner than a person who doesnt drag theirs

The Only Diff that is weak is the Front Diff. Rear Diff can handle something like 700+HP.
Front diff needs to be upgraded to a ralliart then u might get away with dumping if you want.
