The M3 is dated and is an outgoing model. I had Audi's for years and the last two were very troublesome cars needing constant service to correct numerous faults. I have an S60R with a 6 speed manual and like it very much but it's too new to tell yet about reliability; but it is nowhere like either the Shelby or the Z06. If you are looking for a sedan then I would pick the Volvo (in fact I did!). If someone said the Volvo's "a snail" they haven't driven one. In most everyday driving situations it has way more usable power than the EVO.

I think I can contribute. I own an 05 Evo and an 01 Z06. I owned an E36 M3, so I'm familiar with BMWs. Of course, the E46 M3 has more power then the E36, but it's also heavier...

Which brings up the subject of heavy... why do I think of the new Cobra when I hear that word? Hmm, 3800 plus pounds - yes, it's a bit of a porker. but it has a ton of power. Damm, hard choice.... And an 03 Vette would be used not new....

......I'd go for the 03 Z06 - it has the handling, it has the power, and it has the light weight. If you need back seats, get the Evo.

After driving my girlfriends M3 all the time I fell in love with it. the M3 is not the fastest car, but it the most well rounded. Comfort, style, looks, performance. Love it.
