That's what they say, but there are lots of durable thermoplastics. I hope they used Polycarbonate High Heat, but even then it can start to deflect when heated to around 300°F. I'd be wary of using plastic for a cam gear cover, but it depends on the mounting points and vicinity to high-temp components.
There are many plastic parts used in engine bays and on drivetrains that meet a spec. of 120°C (248°F), but they're not that close to the engine block.

Please also test the fitting on this. Some people who have adjustable cam gears that when the stock cover is put, it makes a tapping noise. The solution was to grind the inside of the cover. I hope we don't need to gind anything on this because it will look ugly from the outside and defeats the purpose.

I think thats a fantastic upgrade being that your able to visually inspect cam gears and the belt without having to take off the cover. wonderful!
