Gettin Rid of 03, gettin 05 with these mods...

Ok i currently have an 03 Evo with bolt ons, clutch, boost controller, etc... anyways, i'm on my way to my 3rd TC, syncros act up even after mitsu syncro replacement, many diff fluids, and lots of other 03 evo related problems...

I am planning to get an 05 GSR no SSL so its a bit lighter than my current 03 with sunroof.

I wanna be more precautious but at the same time more power is key. So this is what i was thinking so let me know what u guys think and what my hp/tq would be at with a proper tune and this will be daily driven in traffic in SoCal and well as occasional racing.

05 GSR-
ATP bolt on turbo upgrade ($2500 kit)
Buschur Stg. 4 minus the SAFCII
ARP headstuds
Megan SS manifold with 2000 deg coat
TurboXS Utec or MAYBE AEM EMS
and numerous fuel related upgrades

this is what im basically thinking of but def going onto the ATP turbo kit upgrade because i wanna be beyond the 400whp point on 91 pump but not beyond 500whp.

haha yea im tryna put it in a basic way, but ya get the point, oh yea and alky kit definetely. i want around 420-450awhp with alky but without alky would be great on 91pump. I would want my tq numbers to be no lower than 400ftlbtq

For less than the price of the megan racing manifold plus thermal coating, and the ATP kit you can get the Buschur Racing GT-30R kit. It is on sale right now with thermal barrier coating on the exhaust manifold for $3100. Not sure how long the special with the thermal coating will last though.

Just a thought,

Keith

For the Nth time, take your Tranny and TC to TeamRip or Shepracing ... Wouldn't you want a bulletproof tranny and TC and then mod up knowing the TC and tranny are the least of your worries?

If I was in your shoes and I needed a good daily driver setup, I'd change the planned upgrade path slightly to:
Buschur Stage 1
Buschur ported and coated Evo 8 Exhaust manifold
Walbro 255 fuel pump
HKS 272 cams
Adjustable camgears
White Rabbit turbo
660 to 680cc injectors
AMS IC w/ lower IC pipe
XEDE w/ SMART system
XEDEflash (bump rev limit, eliminate fuel cut, scale for larger injectors)

IMO the White Rabbit should be noticeably superior to any ATP kit for daily driving, since it spools up far earlier. Also, as far as daily driving is concerned, the XEDE with the SMART system will be very hard to beat. Lastly, I believe the total price would be less than the initial list you put together. I realize that both the White Rabbit and XEDE SMART are just now being released, but you are in a perfect position to wait a few weeks, see how the reviews stack up (maybe even drive or get a ride in a WR/XEDE car) and make an educated decision.

It is hard to imagine what your car went through to go through 3 TC's.
