What are your mods done to the car to reach these times?
I didn't really get to doing much with my evo this summer, as I was running my 1g awd talon racecar all the time. Never got to run the car with stock turbo/nitrous at the track, so I won't know.

I have since put the stock fmic, ic pipes, intake, airbox, maf, ecu, injectors back in. Still have the nitrous kit, but I have to reconfigure it as a wet kit and tap into the fuel rail now since I don't have the EMS/850s to supply the additional fuel.

Im going to make some runs in my evo this year again as a "budget". Doubt I will hit 10's...maybe 11.3-11.5 on normal 17" tires.

I am going to run 10's in my 1g talon for $2000 though.

You don't need the Gruppe-s power package #1 - 845
You don't need the alky kit if you're going to have race gas. - 500
You don't need the MBC if you're going to run AEM. - 60
You don't need cam gears. - 279
You don't need the FMIC and pipes. - 950

That brings you down to 5853, plus theres some other crap you could ditch aswell.

Getting to 12.0 flat cost me $2,400 w/o labor ($3,000 including labor)
There's no way to get safely into 10's for just $5k...no way.

Well being how Warrtalon got 12.0 with probally less than $2,400 because of driver skill, 10's for 5k is possible.

A single fogger $550 nitrous kit will get you 100hp ~10mph. your going ~114mph now. with the nitrous, you could run 123-124mph no trouble.

couple that with a very good 60' or spend another $600 on some 225 45 17 drag radials to insure a mid 1.5 60' and it's entirely possible and safe. Curt went 10.9 with 124mph with a 1.537. Nitrous cars ususally ET better than boost cars also in your favor.

Where can you buy that single fogger kit at? I've been looking for one.

Where your slip?

Its funny how everyone suggests how to get into 10s ... but aint doing 10s themselves.... even guys who post their times in their sig.

When you figure why they are yet to hit this mark you'll know how to value their suggestions.

I'm not saying it can't be done but I know it took the best quite a while, and a lot more than 5 grand, to hit 10s.

I suggest you do directly to the people who have hit 10s. Ask them if they can do it (again) for less than 5 grand and LISTEN to their answer, then come back and post the details. I prefer to deal with fact instead of fiction, but that's me.

If you don't know who hit the 10s (and even 9s) with the evo... follow this link:

I have run high 10's in 2 completely different awd/turbo car setups, and ran .082 seconds off hitting 9's (10.082 @ 147mph). I KNOW what it takes to run 10.9 as I have done it many times before. My evo8 would have run in the 10's had I changed the slipping clutch and blown headgasket before the tracks closed this fall.

If you ask me, it is entirly possible to do it for $5000.

I might get there if the conditions are right.
as of now i have the following invested.
exedy twin disc clutch free (came with car)
k&n cone filter $60
10.5 turbo free (thanks John)
ported header and hotside free
ebay o2 housing $60
turbo back 3" $350
arp head studs $80
hallman pro mbc $65
evo IX diverter valve free (thanks John)
walbro fuel pump $90
boost gauge $50
dynoflash $400

next 2 weeks purchasing
272 cams i/e $550
buschur deluxe fmic and licp used $450 (thanks turbodan)
high temp coating header, hotside, o2 housing, and downpipe 100 (thanks Taylor)
port and polish intake manifold and head free
injectors $350

then to complete it
drag radials $600
race gas $50
empty car of crap not needed free

total 3255

now i could go with a wet fogger kit and hit an easy 450+awhp $600
or i could do a bigger turbo like the 20g-9 with high boost and should do mid 400's. $1500

^All that free stuff doesnt count. Someone could buy an EVo with a GT35 and run 10's, doesnt mean he did it for less than 5k because it came with the car. I think we are talking about the cost of the mods from a bone stock car.

right if the car came with it that would be one thing, i just have alot of hook ups specially since i sell evo's with good deals, they tend to hook me up later on. my car was completely stock except for the clutch when i bought it.
