losing vacumn ..hitting brakes?

i know the brakes run off vacumn, and I also know I have a small vacumn leak. Today sitting at a redlight I pumped the brakes up for no apparent reason, as I did this I noticed I would lose vacumn pressure and then it would come back slowly, the more I would pump them up, the more vacumn I would lose. Is this normal, or is my vacumn leak causing this?

Yes, thats normal. The vacuum booster releases its vacuum when you hit the brakes-then when you let off, vacuum builds again. All cars are like that. You probably also noticed a slight change in RPM's for a second as well. Nothing to worry about~!
