Anyone ever have a bad odometer?

? It seems like mine is stuck at 8845. If it is broken, how will the dealer handle it? Would they give me a new one and roll the mileage up? Thanks in advance

thats perfect for resale or trade in value.

drive it until you are ready to get rid of it = low mileage / high priced 04 evo

but have the odometer fixed before you sell or trade ...

Only way you could do that is keep interior/exterior in pristine condition

Hey pjs4x, you should most definitely get it replaced by a dealer. I had mine replaced and they just reset it to 0 (wasn't a digital odometer though). I don't think they will/can roll your odometer forward because it's digital (yes, there might be ways, magnets, etc. but i doubt a dealer would do that.)
Also, do it as soon as possible because it is elage to have a stuck odometer. Emission places should just plug themselves in and check error codes, not too sure if they still register mileage.

Now that i think about it, how would you get a digital odometer stuck O.o .

Again, please, replace it or get it fixed.

Buy one from a wrecked EVO. Have the dealer set the mileage to what it should be.

Is just the odometer stuck or does it not register your speed also?

That's an odd failure to happen on a digital odometer. This cluster does not generate it's own mileage, it gets the mileage data from another module (like the powertrain control moldule, ABS module for example) and all it does is display it on the LCD. So I think the dealer will probably find that it's not the cluster but another module that has the problem.
Unless the mileage is stored in duplicate locations, which some do, then you've got the free miles until it's fixed!!!
