i think the evo would win, but there are some fast trucks out there. yea i know, i own a ralliart and not an evo but i have lost to a 5.3L chevy truck (bad start), and a diesel truck that had a chip by a car length. diesel trucks may look slow but they are fast in the quarter mile. they have horable accel but once it hits the turbo, they go supper fast excpecially when they have some kind of ecu upgrade.

here is some 1/4 times of some trucks i could not find how fast a diesel goes tho.
dodge ram 1500 quad cab ------- 16.2
'' '' SRT - 10 6 spd ------- 13.6
'' '' '' Quad Cab ---- 14.2
Chevy silverado -------------------- 14.8
'' '' 1500 crew cab ------- 16.8
Ford SVT Lighting ------------------- 13.8

The only thing worthy is a modded lightning and even those tend to be sluggish towards the topend. I am not sure how moddable the retardedly expensive srt10 is. A relatively fast turbo diesel will run 13s and that is with quite a bit of modding. They can get as fast as 11s with a rediculous amount of mods. Think 10 second evo. Fact is that trucks tend to be heavy and aren't built to be fast usually. This doesn't mean they can't be, but that isn't why you buy a truck in my opinion. If you want to go fast a different platform would be preferable to me.

One truck I do like however is the syclone with a twin turbo 350 small block in it We have one at our track and he runs low 10s and has even hit 9s a few times. Point being though your average joe shmo truck driver that thinks his truck is the hottness is probably stock and doesn't know any better.

The truck has no chance. I don't know how much crack she has been smoking. Tell her if she is so sure of her truck to take it to the races. It would be funny to watch her get stomped by so many different cars.

As the others say that old skool porky truck has no chance in hell. Gawd I didnt know the thing weighed 6000+ lbs, shesh.

If it was one of these 2 trucks (L or ram srt-10) you might have to be a lil cautious.

You can get over 500 horsepower and 1000 ft-lbs of torque out of a Cummins motor for under $4k. Granted they are a super heavy engine that only comes in heavy trucks, but they can be built to make a TON of power. Not true. The older 8.0L V10s had 300hp and 450 ft/lbs. To my knowledge, they've barely increased in power at all.

She isn't the only one that thinks her Dodge Ram is fast. The other day I came up behind a brand new one with the wing that is has tall has the wing on an evo mounted on the tailgate. It is factory and has a strip down the side. Not sure of which model it is. I think it had one of them over rated hemis in it. And yes I wanted to ask lol. Anyway they floor it and then let off and move over so I go on my way past them get caught in traffic and here they come again I guess thought since they were behind that now they would try to ride my ***. Yeah think again. Keep in mind this was not racing. I just drive fast and people want to mess with me alot because of that. It still fun to educate them.

At the 1/8 mile track a few weeks ago, the car that was closest to me was a f150 lightning, slightly modded - he was only maybe 4-5 carlengths behind in the 8th... He definitely would have beaten a stock Evo...

It really is sad/funny how people think that 5.0s and Hemis are unbeatable. I'm sure if you asked your average Mopar fan what "Hemi" even refers to, they couldn't say...

I've got a 2000 ford f-150 that I drive around when I'm not in the Evo. It is nothing spectacular, just to get from a to b kinda thing, and yes it weighs over 5k. I don't quite have the same engine, as the truck described. It has a 5.4 V8 which isn't too bad in the hp and torque department, and it would stand a chance. The damn thing weighs another 2000 lbs more than the Evo. It doesnt have enough horsepower to compensate for the added weight.

I meant to say wouldn't stand a chance on that one line there, by the way!
