what about getting that special tail light spray paint and painting the clear part red?

 

nope, wont fit....been discussed MANY times.

 

Don't they have "blacked out" tails that don't look so lame. Doesn't that mean that you could open them up and paint the silver part black and have them not look ricey?

 

you could possibly open them up but they also sell those carbon fiber altezza's that are also blacked out. i was thinking of painting the whole top part red . leaving out the turn signal and reverse lights...

 

31000 bucks out the door and I'm painting tail lights? No way. is marketing this thing all wrong, they allowed the marketing people to not know the car. The people that actually have 30k to buy it KNOW what it is and want it to be as anti ricer as possible. They want it to BE the real rally race car, with as many genuine, functional factory race parts as possible. I can not get out of the car at a valet and have my car look like a teen age kid bought it. The look ALL around has to be authentic. If I wanted cheeseball racecar look alike I'd buy an O.Z.

 

just use red vinyl... its cheap and easy and will make the tails look like the EVO 7's... thats my plan... by the way, my "Lowered HONDA" is pushing 220 (not monstrous numbers), but no stickers or melon shooter exhaust either....lol


side note, i sat in the EVO 8 here at Mitsubishi(next door)...very nice... the muffler is big 3"... the gear shifter is VERY slick

hey man painting tail lights isnt a ricer mod. some people do it to get a clean uniform red tail light look and get rid of the orange blinker. so what you're telling me is you're gonna keep the altezza's and be even more rice? i was just giving an alternative to buying evo 7 tails. and you dont have to have 30k and want to buy the car to know what the car is. if you want to look classy at the valet, stick w/ your G35 if you dont want a "teenage" looking car. so just chill out...

 

No, I'm saying that they put the wrong tail lights in the thing in the first place. Going with the ricer lights was a marketing move. I want the clean look you speak to, I just don't want to have to paint them to get it... I think the most of the people that actually have the money to buy it will agree...

No offense, but the car has a little bit too much tacked on stuff for 31k, the tail lights, the steering wheel that is preventing it from having cruise, the Recaro seats that only have blue inserts, battery mounted in the front. This would be acceptable at 26 or 27k, but 31k? I love the car, and can afford it, but it is going to be a little rough justifying it when the factory didn't really make it exactly right. At 31k, details, details....

 

If you are saying the evolution 7 lights will not fit the 8 you better re-think....they will fit...exact same dimensions...care to dispute?

 

yeah i'm with limey, don't rain on my parade i'm getting 7 lights for my 8
