I'm supposed to get one of the first batch at Stohlman's too. Haven't talked to them for a while though, been depending on posts from Thwack and SC to keep informed. Keep up the good work guys...

It certainly seems like the entire northeast will be seeing cars around the 21st of March.. That was the same date I was given here in NY.. Thats for First wave.. From some of the other posts I've seen, It may have had something to do with Customs causing the delays here on the east coast.. But don't hold me to that, Its just hearsay..

There are no customs related processes here on the East coast. All cars come into the country in CA and are customs cleared in CA.

btw...I think the rumor about customs problems due to the cars emissions is bunk. A few people have posted on the board that their cars list as "customs cleared" in the Mitsu Inventory system. If there were customs problems, you would think that No Evo's would get cleared until the problem is dealt with.

And, as far as I am aware, Federal Customs Agents do not do tailpipe checks at the port. All the tailpipe emissions stuff is cleared through the govt long before a shipful of cars hits port.

Eh.. as long as it shows up by the 21'st I'll be happy.. If it gets delayed again, I'm going to give some serious consideration to a different car.. yet again.. maybe a 350z or an IS300 (unfortunately neither of them are all that quick)

Well the 350Z is not bad it think it has 10 more HP than the evo (on paper), brembo brakes, excellent suspension and chicks dig that car more than our 4 door looking lancers.

but it doesn't handle all that well. It understeers like mad....even the track version, which is the version which also has the Brembos....and the track version MSRP's for $35k

I wanna check out the Evo because I have been a fan for a very long time and I am excited that it is finally coming here. That having been said, being a 350Z owner...I am fairly certain the Evo will outperform my car in acceleration and cornering. The Evo comes out of the box ready for the track. The Z needs some suspension work to cure the understeer (as mentioned by another poster). Also, if you do not have the Track model Z (which I do not), you would probably have to upgrade your pads/brake fluid for the track. This is the reason I got the Z. I don't race or go to tracks or anything, so I felt that the Evo would be a waste in my hands. I also love the look of the Z...the Evo5-6 were my favorite lookswise, 7+ never really grew on me.

Anyways keep me posted on when you guys get yours!
