Interest Rate

Called my credit union today on a loan of about 15K, they quoted me 6% for 60 months.

It sucks that will not offer any incentives due to the demand for the car.

I Don't fell like paying this much. interest, anybody know a good online lender?

thanks,

Like I posted in another thread, AAA sets you up with a credit union and gives you a pretty good rate. I got approved for 34,000 at 3.99%

my credit union will let you stretch it out to 84 months at 5.49%.

I just bought a 2003 Mustang Cobra this way. I don't like equity in any vehicle anyway.

Hmmmm...

When I started in the car business just a couple of years ago 6% would have been considered a very aggressive rate. Interesting how perceptions change.

Last month I had a guy tell me he walked out of Volkswagon steamed because he felt the 3.9% rate they were offering was outrageous. 2 years ago a rate like that would have been regarded as unbelievable.

Compare this to the late 80's when Ford, for the first time offered 9.9% financing on Escorts and Rangers (this was the first time any factory offered single-digit finance rates). As my boss who sold at a Ford store at the time likes to say of that time, "It was like K-Mart at Christmas. You had to get a deposit on the car BEFORE the test drive or else it would be sold before you got back."
