God bless alkey injection!!

My review for aleky injection...

Wow is all I can say. Here is the story.

I drove down to Tampa, FL to have Luis (VTECH8TR) install my methanol injection kit. He started working on it - installed the kit and started doing some boost leak tests. Well we found a major leak on the pipe that goes from the turbo to intercooler (lower pipe). This is a Buschur peice and I tell you - David you guys really need to fix that pipe and how it is fabricated. The pipe is great quality - but just a PITA to get out or put in. Well Luis did some adjustments (grinding) to the pipe and sealed it with silicon and made it fit. Boost leak was fixed (it was a major one). So the meth kit was installed. I have to say Luis installed the kit like a pro. Nothing was overlooked and the install went nice and smooth. Professional work is all i have to say. Well now comes the tuning..

THe original map on my EMS wasnt the best. I am not going to say who tuned it but it was a rush job. Sean Ivey took a look at the map and fixed a lot of things that needed to be fixed -- Thanks Sean (great f*n aem tuner). Well after the meth install Vijay (racegate) came over and started working his magic on the AEM. We had some issues with AEM's buggy internal logging - but it was fixed. Boost was controlled via the AEM using a Apex-I AVCR boost selenoid (works good). A little timing, afr, and boost adjustment - and WOW!!!!!!!! The thing pulls like a banshee!!! Vijay said that it is definatley a 11sec car for sure. It really pulls and its only at 25psi. All I have is everyone should invest in the AMS aleky kit. It is definatley worth it.

My thanks goes out to Luis for being a bass @SS mechanic, his friend that came over and helped us out, Luis's girlfriend for giving us ice cold beverages cuz it was so hot outside, and of course Vijay for tuning the AEM. I can now say that I have found my one tuner for the AEM. This man is amazing with the EMS...very intelligent.

The Tial is great but only thing it does is sputter at part throttle. Easy fix is to cut the spring - we were going to but did not have enough time. It's definatley a nice bov though.

Alky is awesome. I have been messing with it for about 4years now and it is the savior for us low displacement turbocharged cars for everyday performance!!

I have been drag racing AWD mitsus for 6 years and I will say without a doubt that car as it sits has 11sec potential with a proper launch and shifts. Feels like my Talon when I was running high 11s with it on alky. Was a pleasure to tune, and there is plenty left on the table. Should be interesting with the new "tricks" on it and a full calibration. Then its off to the dyno and track. Yes the map was a bit messed up as it came in from the previous tuner..but I don't feel the need to comment on that, I'll just let my results speak for themselves and avoid the drama.

Now stop giving those bikes a hard time.

alky

I will second that! I have the alky kit from AL. Put it in myself and with Al's road tune at 28 psi it is a feeling that you can't describe. The best part is when you are cruising you never use the alcohol.

But when you do use it....you use it up fast! For road racing the quart jug just isn't big enough.

What type of fluids were you using? 50/50? 100% methanol? How long does it last?

Thanks.

When moving 36LBS/min which is what my nearly stock evo moves I would drink a 2 quart bottle up in 8 1/4miles passes. If you were doing a lapping day it wouldn't last more than 10 minutes. That's injecting 30% injector duty cycle. 50% denatured alchohol and 50% distilled water. I had to move up to a 4 quart jug to get 15 minutes worth of chemical intercooling. I was using a 500cc nozzle at 100 psi.

The 4 qt bottle was great because for drag racing you could drop some ice in the tank which further reduced temps.

This was with my snowperformance.net stage II kit.

You can get a gallon of denatured alchohol from home depot for $7.

Methanol is usually under $3 per gallon at the racetrack as well. it's 1/3 the price of racegas per gallon.

Thanks.
He is running 100% methanol. The intercooler sprayer bottle can hold 1 gallon and 1/4 of meth.
