Speed Magazine Jul//Aug
Getting in the 10's is not as easy as 5k in a cobra or WS6. Maybe with a big shot of nitrous, but your car will not be reliable and will be braking stuff constantly. Go to any drag strip and see how many every day drivers are running tens with only 5k including labor, not many.

What about Broke7's Cobra? He has 5K in it and it run's 10.60's@132mph?
What about the average stalled, juiced, cammed WS-6 or SS that can run 10's for 5K too?
Not *****ing because a EVO will outbrake/outhandle those cars, but in a straightline there are better.

S2ks may not respond as well as an Evo to mods, but they do have great handling, and they can be VERY quick in a race track with forced induction like previously demonstrated in a mag (I think C & D) some time ago. Of course an RX8 has great handling too, but those 'drink' gas like crazy...
Just my thoughts though... The Evo's on top anyway!

It's just another variable in the full Evo experience, whereas those other cars you mentioned...it's the only card in their deck.
