Should I sell my SAFC-II?

I just took my 05' MR into the dealer today and to my amazement, the service manager and the chief mechanic (sole person who works on the Evos), told me that I could flash my ECU and they would still do warranty work on it! They said and I quote "We don't have the equipment to tell if your 05' has been flashed so if we don't know, don't tell us and we won't look" They were very cool and knew about all the upgrades for the Evos. If I had known they were so cool about this, I would never have bought the SAFC-II and fields harness. The only reason I bought it was so I could remove it when taking the car into the dealer. I'm not really one to change things once they are set so a flash would be much more convenient. Plus, I'm sure Al knows a hell of a lot more than I could ever know about tuning which means his flash will likely give me way better gains than any tuning I could do on my own with the SAFC. It's brand new, never used though, and I hate losing money. What to do?

I run the plug and play with my emanage and I think it is great plus my dealership is clueless about it cause when I need work I just swap the harnesses. I have never had a flash but I have heard nothing but good things about them, so if you want to go that route I doubt you will be disappointed.

As far as loosing the money issue, if what you say is true it is brand new and never been used then why couldnt you return it or sell it for close to face value? You wouldnt lose much, but maybe I misunderstood the situation

Just trying to help.

I also like the idea of keeping both

From some previous post I heard they can read 05 ecu's that are flashed, the other ones cannot. Don't quote me on this just remember seeing mentioned on the forum.

It is pointless after the flash! Sell it and try and re-coup some of your money.

It means he doesn't know how to do his own tuning and therefore sees no point in having an S-AFC for fine-tuning on top of a flash...

Its not pointless^^^, you can still tune on top of the flash, example, if you have a pump gas flash and you add race gas you can lean out your tune with the safc to make more power.
