Apexi Silencer

Has anyone used an apexi silencer in an exhaust that ISN'T made by Apexi? My exhausts silencer shot out of the back (The bolt came loose) and got completely ****ed. It could cost me 75$ and a very long wait time to get a replacement since my exhaust isn't readily available in the USA. The Apexi silencer has the same piping dimensions as mine, but I am wondering if there are any other things that will make it not fit.

Along the lines of your question-I have a Flowmaster muffler, and after the novelty of the sound wore off, I went back to the muffler shop who installed it, and bought a silencer from "no-name" muffler and it fits fine. A couple of days later, I found a friend of mine who bought a Magnaflow silencer, and it was exactly the same thing as mine. The one I bought was $8.

Hey man,

Sorry no concrete answer, but maybe I should try that to get my Helix silencer out. It's a friggin PITA, lol. I did see a test in D-Sport a few months back for a generic silencer with a different design that was in between no silencer and the normal restrictive silencer.

In my car, the silencer cost ~50 WHP

I think it's too loud without it, but losing ~50WHP blows...

I guess as long as the dimensions are ok, including the depth, it should work?

Good luck,

Cool, maybe I'll get an extra one and see if I can "alter" the silencer to flow a little better without making it too loud. Otherwise I'm looking at buying a quieter muffler.

Thanks,
