i would go buy a used or salvage evo but that would require spending more money. i got the accent for free so now all i have to do is turn it into something like this: http://search.netscape.com/ns/boomfr...2Farticle.html

I don't think it's the evo engine, but I could be wrong. It's most likely an engine out of a turbo fwd 1st or 2nd gen eclipse/talon. That is something I've heard done, and you can pick up the whole setup (engine, tranny, ecu, axles, etc) relatively cheap (Aprox $1000-$2300 depending on age and condition). I've seen that done before in Sports Compact Car magazine a couple of years ago.

Although I agree it doesn't look like an EVO engine, I know it is not a 1G or 2G Eclipse/Talon angine. The timing belt cover is on the wrong side, and the cam cover is completely different. I have seen Hyundai's use the 1&2G Eclipse/Talon engines before and it looks nothing like this.

Here is an example... http://www.rigoliracing.com.au/hyund...cent_front.jpg

why not get a mirage and make an evo, or abandon this idea because for the price of putting an evo complete drivetrain in that korean ****box youd be able to get a used evo 8
