Hi all
I have looked through numerous threads about this but have not seen an answer to my question. Does anyone know if there is a roof rack that mounts to factory locations on the EVO 8? I have seen some posts that mention such a system but no part number or place to buy.

Yakima with Q Towers will work...

 

I have the Thule roof rack. Look at my avatar and my profile. They mount directly onto the stock mounts. I didn't even know there were mounts until I was installing the roof rack.

 

I just took off my Thule with two MT bike racks + wheel holders. Any Thule towers will work, you just need the fit kit 2041. If you don't have one yet, I'm thinking of selling mine. Its a nice fit on the EVO, I just don't like a rack on my car. Interested?

 

The "fit kit" clips are strange. They slide into your internal gutter system. They clip on this little flange. I'll try and get pictures of the clips and the racks.

 

Also, remember that with '05 or MR's..aluminum roof isnt the strongest thing in the world .

 

I have the sunroof on my 05 EVO 8 and I thought that my roof is steel? Pics of the gutter mount system would be great!

 

Do you know the part number of the system that you bought?

Sorry didn't see that jdnourse had already provided it.

 

I just looked it up on the mitsubishi site, only the RS and MR have the aluminum roof panel. So it looks like I am ok in that respect.
