Question Standard Evo 8 or 9 Engine sound

Hi

Has anybody got or can point me to any video or sound files of what the standard Evo 8/9 engine sound like ... i understand it has a recirculating dump valve and i want to know hoe this sounds when driving the car ...

i know you don't get the same "psssttt" as a Vent to atmosphere dump valve but id like to know how the recirculating one sounds ....

they don't sound like your vta, they're quiet and nice.


why, are you getting an Evo for bov sound? You know if you want that WRX is better at that then EVo's.

no sound at all ???

I want an Evo just would love the VTA sound ... I know childish but there you go ...

Iv been told with the windows down if you thrash them they do make some noise just not a much as an EVO running a VTA ...

does the Scooby WRX come with a VTA dump valve then ??

An open element intake would improve the sound of the your BOV for sure!!!

no need to take the WRX over the EVO just for the VTA dump!

Please do not buy an EVO, or a STI for that matter.

Well if the Evo is stock, yeah it will be hard to hear anything. However, if you have a set of IC piping and a new intake you'll definitely hear the recirculating BOV. My MR BOV can easily be heard now -- not that I was going for that sound, just a part of the upgrade in the IC piping...

My intake is completely stock, aside from a K&N , but you get a little Pshhhhh sound when shifting and letting off throttle at any boost above 10 psi or so.
