super stupid noob question

hey

This has to be the dumbest question ever but here goes. By the way I did not find anything in a search. How do you close your hood? Drop it from a few inches or push it closed? Everyone is telling me that you should not push an aluminum hood closed.

Thanks

i push mine near the very front on the rib where it is stronger, palm down spreading out the force from my hand so as not to bend it

Yep.

And I believe the owner's manual even says what height to drop it from.

I just drop it and if it doesn't close then I just use my hand and apply pressure on the hood.

Good call about the manual! It says to drop the hood from 12 inches. I really need to read that thing! I would feel like a total *** if I dented the hood while closing it. Thanks for the input!
