Angry Got Pulled Over Again

Well yesterday at about 10:30 i was going down north ave coming up to 1st ave to meet up with my girlfreind when suddenly this cop car comes flying behind me almost hitting me turns his lights on and pulls me over. (now i remember doing about 40-45) he steps out walks up to my door and says the usual do u know why i pulled you over? i respond yes officer i belive i do i was speeding a liltle i was just keeping up with trafic and i was running late to meet my lady at the movies. he then responds "u were doing 51 on a 30 u put me at risk" do u know how fast i had to go to catch up to you? license and insurance. now im driving on a ticked for noise polution previousto this and i didint have the valid insurance card. so he takes my ID goes back to the squad at this point i know im getting arrested, he comes back to give me the tickets for speeding doing 21 over and the ticket for no insurance and he made me sign some bond. i guess they were going to arrest me. im just more pissed about the other cars that were passing me up that got away. but anywasys this is my first speeding offense what do u think will be the maximum penalty? do u think there is anyway of getting out of it. thanx you help is appriciated

you need a lawyer. see if your insurance agent will be cool with you and say that your new card or something was in the mail. evos are cop magnets watch your speed admit to nothing

Go to court w/ you insurance card and see if you can get that tossed out, then try to get the judge to change your ticket from speeding to "defective equipment" with the same fine. Most places only want the fine revenue anyway and a defective equipment citation will not effect your insurance rates. Good luck.

As long as you actually had valid insurance at the point you were pulled over, you can easily get that ticket tossed out regardless of whether you actually had your insurance card with you or not. Just take proof of insurance with you when you goto court.

For the speeding, get a lawyer and try and get it reduced. In Georgia, 21mph over the limit is considered a major violation for insurance purposes. When/if your insurance company sees that, expect a nice hike in your rates or maybe even a cancellation letter. Get that reduced to minor levels or you'll be feeling the effects for a good 5 years or so.

Lawyer seems a bit over board. Do you guys have driving school. In Mississippi you can go to driving school and the ticket is kept on record but you insurance company won't find out. the best part about this is that each time you get a ticket from a different police force you can go to school so far I have gotten four tickets and gone to four different driving schools. If you can plead guilty and go to driving school I would do that.

First plead not guilty. You admitted to the officer what you did so you do not want a trial. Not every town/city offers plea deals where you can change the charge thereby reducing your fine/points on license. Good luck.

Lawyer for a speeding ticket?! You guys must be joking lol. 20 over the speed limit typically results in a criminal speeding violation. Out here (CA and AZ) this translates into not being able to attend traffic school. Hopefully its different in your area.

umm ive gotten a ticket for going over 30 mph which technically should have gotten my license taken away becasue i was only 18 but i fought it a little and they said they will bring the speed down to 23 so i can keep my license and told me to claim no low. if u have no low in your state claim it. my insurance rates didnt go up so im not sure if my company(allstate) has checked my record recently. good luck with the tickets. And in case anyone was wondering doing about 95 in a 65 in my geo

Definately get the insurance dropped if you can. Same thing happened to me with my registration. DMV was about a week late sending it to me, and I got ticketed 4 days after it expired. Took the new card to court and got it thrown out. As for the speeding, a lawyer might be your best bet depending on the fines and points associated with your state. I love Nevada... I got pulled over doing 89 in a 55 and it was $35...
