I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I have the same problem and the only fix there is, is a temporary fix at best. Sorry but you will most likely have to replace the whole thing unless its a very tiny crack. If its tiny then there may be a way to stop it from spreading I forget what the stuff is called though.

check w/ your insurance company. it all depends on your coverage. if you have the right coverage, they will replace the windshield w/out a penny out of your pocket

Yup, but if you set your deductable high, then some out of pocket $$$ is in your future. I have a hookup (buddie) that charged me $150, but your lookin between $200-$300 for a replacement.

i have two small ones, one crack grew about 4 inches . i found a guy who came to your house and fixed it there for cheap. the fix isnt that bad but if you are very particular about looks then you might be better off installing a new one.
its been 8 mos already and my windshield is still good.

I recomend Allstar Glass. They did a seal job on three cracks for $60 originally. They insure the work if the cracks expand. 3 months latter, one crack expanded. They forwarded the purchase toward a new windshield which I did. I think I paid around $150 for a new windshield.(mind you with the discount of the last work. My insurance deductable was high so I paid straight. But still $200 or so is not bad at all. Great work and a stronger glass!

Does anyone know which year Lancer has the proper rear view mirror mount to use with the Evo? I don't want them to just pull mine off and "glue" it on the new windshield. I think it is the 04' but not sure...

Do they actually fill in the crack so it is not visible any longer?

thank's for all the input guys..
I'm thinking of paying straight since my deductible is rather high
how much would it cost me to get a new windshield and get it installed?

With Allstar Glass just shy over $200 new glass installed. Not bad. They have the option of PPG or Pinkerton or OEM(Being the most expensive) They gave me Pinkerton and it is stronger than OEM. Been hit with some more rocks to know!
