Sad to say but my bro n law just totaled his 2003 evo this past sunday....there was a total of 5 people in the car...my bro n law, my sister, and their 3 kids...they were on their way back home from visting my parents and some *** in a pickup truck drove by them giving them the middle finger??? they had no clue what was going on and the jerk decided to throw a beer bottle at them out of his window...they were traveling at about approximately 60 mph...my bro tried to dodge the bottle and ended up losing control of the car...the car must have rolled over at least 3 times...seeing the car in its current condition amazes me that no on was seriouly injured...I'm just thankful to God that their whole family came out of it w/ minor injuries...Worst part is they were not able to get a license plate number being that the incident happened so quick...all they remember is that it was a light blue truck w/ a handicap license plate...I hope the cops find this jerk and make him pay for everything...He saw the accident and fled the scene...
Anyway the cars exterior is a total loss....the interior is fully intact along w/ the motor...as of right now we are not sure if the tranny will be salvageable but the motor definately is...anything from the radiator back looks good....it was not a head on collision so none of the air bags were deployed...we will mostly likely be buying the car back from the insurance company and will be parting it out...the motor has 40k miles on it....how much is it worth?

 

i have no idea what the engine is worth but that is a horrible fcking story and i hope the son of a b*tch who did this to your family pays dearly.

 

I would say about $5. LOL Anyway, you should be able to at least get a $1000 if the engine compartment is not too bad, but there are still going to be some problems. With the right buyer you could get way more, but when a car is totaled like that the motor never seems to run right for most when they yank it and use it in something else. With 40K miles on it you will be lucky. Good luck.

The lighting, if operable, intercooler, brakes and other things could be salvaged to bring some money, nic nac undamaged stuff as well depending on what didnt get destroyed.

1000? nah well i dunt kno how selling engines work but around my area in LA ppl usually sell them for about 3.5 gs for an evo motor or 4gs

as for the engine, assuming it's still okay, $1K-$2K...or do a search on Ebay...you'll come up with a range of prices...

 

I think your engine should be worth at least 5000 grand. Sorry to hear about yet another totaled accident involving an evo. I hope your family makes a quick a painless recovery. Make sure that they describe the incident to the police in full. Those guys should be removed from the streets. If you have any pictures of the car, please post them?
