Best way to buy out of state?

I was looking into gettin an evo MR, and have just found one about four or five states away. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what they thought would be the best way to purchase it. Things like if I can seal a contract over the phone, if going on a road trip would be best, or anyother ideas you guys can think of. O yah, i'll be trading my car in too, so that might change things up a bit. Is it possible to sign the contract through another dealer, or something? Well that would just make things easier. Anyways thanks, appreciate it.

Hi,

First off, I am a newbee here on this forum it looks like a great site! Sold my 97 M3/4 on Friday, and just picked up my WW MR yesterday up in Grand Rapids, MI. For me it was fairly easy, I just jumped on a Comair flight(lucky for me I am in the business/free flight and 45 min later I was picked up in a 06 Eclipse GT and taken to the dealer. I had a 5 hr drive home, but it was all heaven.
Your deal is a little more complicated Since you are trading your 8 in,
I think the only way for your deal to work is to drive your car to trade it in. The dealer who is taking the trade is probably going to want to check out your car. Of course you can buy the MR over the phone, I did. Just take a few days off work and start driving

i was on the verge of buying my evo in pa (im from mass) and i asked how that would work. basically i was told it wouldnt be an issue they would take care of all the paperwork needed and its not an uncommon thing to happen.

Talk to your local dealer. They can buy the car from the other dealer or do a dealer trade. It probably depends on the two dealers but expect to pay a premium for the dealers to arrange something like this.
