Erasing ECU Logs?

Hey guys, I did a few searches but didn't find much that was fruitful.

I've heard some people say that you should erase the ECU before heading to the dealership so you don't get slapped with some BS "warranty voided because of abuse" down the road. Is this just he same as normally resetting the ECU, or is there some special way to do it? Is it worthwhile to do before visits?

As far as I know, there are two memories in the ECU. One's short term and the other long term or something like that. By resetting the ecu, you clear the short term, but some of the long term remains. I read something about it and it's hard to explain. Unless there is a way to totally clear the ECU of all memory then I think the dealer can still find things out.

It keeps top speed and peak RPM. If you have bounced off the rev limiter or gone real fast, it's a good idea to disconnect your neg side of the battery for a few minutes.
