that and, it seems like they fixed a lot of problems in the '05. the MAF is much less picky, clutches seem to be stronger somehow, along with synchro's. Tranny problems also seem to have gone down a bit? I havn't been around that long, but this is just what I gather from reading threads...

 

not necessarily, in ct you'd only pay tax on the difference between your trade and the price of the new vehicle, so ~$550 or so, plus $130 to register. and invoice is just shy of 29k, no? so 29k + 500 + 680 puts you a bit over $30k

it's like getting a new paint job in any available color, removing all the dings on your car, upgrading to the acd, upgrading the synchros, getting a leather interior, new brakes, new tires, new oils, new tranny, new clutch, no miles, o5s have a $250 hot side installed, upgraded wastegate actuator, more power, better tuned, better break in as you now have all of your mods from day 1, and of course, the best part of any 05 evo, the VORTEX GENERATOR. j/k im sure there is more but you get the point. the car lost about $10k of value in two years and 28k miles. 5k is what my car payment a year is anyways. so you don't loose any money on that part. if you time it right, this car could need new brake pads $200, tires $900, clutch $1200 w/install, all oil chages $250, air fliter $60. you are not paying any extra money buying a car other then regisration, so maybe a few hundred, but that is made up in maitenence cost he was going to have to foot anyway. so he may have made up some money with this trade, and if he got 0% like offered he saved thousands to get a brand new car that is better then his old one.

I think you don't pay taxes when you do a trade. Is that correct?
