Recall for 2005 Evo !

Got a notice from Mitsubishi today in the mail about replacing the
turbocharger coolant house.

Anyone other 2005 Evo owners receive such a notice ?

There's several threads that mentioned it in the past.

Well it's news to me.

Have you guys had yours fixed ?

I'm not happy about leaving my car at the dealer as I like to do my own
maintance and repairs as much as possible.

because if u dont do it early, ur looking at a tow and possibly some turbo issues! GET IT DONE NOW BEFORE, DONT WAIT! IF UR CAR IS PART OF THE RECALL THEY CAN FIX IT BEFORE U GET THE NOTICE.

It doesn't apply to all 05s. Guys locally have gotten the notice and are getting it done, but not all of us are on the list apparently...

After the fact, I did a search and found a thread about that recall.

Nice of them to let me know after 5 months of ownership.

I'm liable just to get the hoses and coolant and do it myself.
Unless I can watch them while they do the work.

Fug it, I'm trading it in on a 2006 Evo IX or STI.
I don't want it anymore it's tainted.

I brought my 2005 Apex Silver EVO in to have it done. As part of the recall you get the fill synthetic oil change done also.

I thought it was a good value considering I just ticket past 1000 miles...

I would highly recommend having it done for the FREE oil change.

I've changed out all of my fluids allready.

If they do the Mobile1 for free, that can't be all bad. Never hurts to change
your oil again.
