No that's bulls crap. $5000 . Tell to advertie that and see how many customer they will get due to the resale.

My honda over 5 year lost half the price I bought it for and this is with 80K miles . This along with quality is the reason why this is my first and last

Don't take the crap from that stearlership and go somewhere else.

this is the only mitsubishi dealership around here... i see that people on here traded their 03 with atleast 25k miles and got around $24000... mine has only 6k miles and a 2004 with SSL package and gets a lower price on it?

they got me real confused...they told me 06 was coming out so my car is 2 years old..thats going to lower the price on the evo and it has low miles...that will lower the price too?!?!? ****... they showed me their black book and said all dealers go by that price...and there was a colum that saids mileage and there was some 30k number under it and the price was $23500...he told me thats how much that my car is worth and that number under the mileage is just some mitsub number...man..... i am confused on where he's getting...

Don't worry about what other people claimed on trade-ins. Dealers do all kinds of number shuffling when someone is trading in during a purchase. You have to completely separate each side of the process to ensure they don't pull the wool over your eyes. You can't expect to get jack squat when trading in a car. That is the worst way to sell a car in terms of getting the car's value, because you only get wholesale value, basically. They can sell it for retail, but you can only sell it for private party or trade-in value. Private party value is much higher, but trade-in is only what dealers can get them for at auctions basically...

Trade ins are always lower than retail. Sell out right and you will get more money.

my evo still isnt paid off yet..i rather go for a trade in but i know they are ripping me off...

they told me in many ways how the 06 eclipse is better than evo which is all false... the guy claim that he drove an evo before and eclipse is just as fast... mmm evo 0-60 in 4.8.. eclipse 0-60 in 5.9? i don't think so..and it handles just as good? i don't think so neither... he told me that the eclipse is faster and it tops out at 135 and evo only tops out around 120?? LOL..this guy have no idea what he's talking about ... anyone test drove the 06 eclipse??/

kinda sucks to see the evos depreciate that fast, just out of curiosity I went to see what I would get for a trade-in at a Mitsu dealer and was quoted 28k for my '04 g35 coupe 6mt premium package with 17k miles originally got it for around 34k..... private trade would be around 30k... if I were you and you were going to down right switch cars, I would do a private sell

Get the deal going with Mitsubishi. Get them to commit to a price for the Eclipse. Then tell them you will sell the Evo yourself to get more money and walk out. This usually makes them change the trade-in price since they only make money if they make a sale. You are in the drivers seat since you have the money! I'm sure they have more Eclipses tha Evos.
You could even tell them you'll sell your Evo privately and buy the new Eclipse on the internet - which is the very best deal for you.
Was at Tustin Mitsu today. They still have a sticker with extra mark-up on the 2005 Evos. No harm trying I guess.

Dealers will tell you anything to get your money. Then they will tell you to "F" off once they have it.

Just go back in, clearly spell out what you want, give your phone number and walk out. You'll get a call by the end of the month.

So in other words, some people actually owe more than the car is worth? Luckily for me, I think I'll always be right under the mark... There's really no point then in waiting to pay off a car before buying a new one, is there? I'll probably be in the market again for the '07 IX or X, whatever it's going to be.
