TRE Team Rip Engineering

Reason title says TRE Team Rip Engineering is just in case Jon or Ming do a search for they're company name. I don't know if this issue should be in another section, if it should be then go ahead and move it. I recentley sent my transmission and transfer case out to them for a rebuild and installment of a LSD and a new ring and pinion. The transmission and transfer case was completed by TRE and sent out to where my car was(Mitsubishi dealer)last monday(the 29th) Jon told me it should be there by the following Thursday.......it is now 1 week and 3 days since its been shipped and they have yet to arrive, I have no way of contacting anyone at TRE because they are on vacation, I am worried my transmission was shipped to the wrong location and something might have happened to it......I spent ALOT of money on this rebuild and am just trying to get pointed in the right direction. I already sent them an email but they have yet to reply....what should I do?

I think you should wait until they get back from vacation, nothing you can do if noone is there.

you could call the shipper and ask them if there is anything scheduled for delivery for your address. I know ups does this. But it probably got sent freight, so I dont know. Just contact the shipper.

Don't worry. There should be insurance in case anything happened. Is there a racking number or a way to see where it is?

If you don't have a tracking number there's not much you can do except wait until they get back from vacation.

Check your PM's.

It is now the 12th of september and 4 days since TRE says they would come back from vacation on their website. I called about 15-20 times today but nothing but a couple rings then the noise that fax numbers make, so I faxed them a message and it went through. Did they change their number? Does someone know if there is any other possible way for me to get in contact with these guys other than email, the business phone number and fax? It has been more than 2 weeks since Jon told me my tranny and transfer case was shipped out and I have yeat to hear from him since. Would any of you be concerned? To top it off I have an appointment with TurboTrix on the 16th(this friday) that I have been planning for a month and a half with a bunch of my buddies(5 of them with evos and stis) and I don't know where my tranny and transfer case is and noone can tell me, not even the guy who rebuilt it. For me to fork over almost $3400 and then have someone to tell me its already been shipped out then lose contact with them for more than 2 weeks and the tranny and transfer case don't show up is extremely un-professional, period. I have emailed countelss times, made an obscene amount of phone calls and I am having absolutely no luck whatsoever. I am NOT a happy customer.

Seems like people always wait till the last minute to do things then expect everything to go smoothly with no problems. Am sure TRE said they were going on vacation before they return shipped your units. Did you request tracking and shipping info in the instance like this case where it didn't arrive, you would have the ability to find out where it is and whats going on. Once an item leaves any company and is shipped, calling the company 20 times doesn't make it get there any faster. The item is in the possession of the shipping company.

TRE in no way shape or form told me they were going on vacation, I found out after not being able to contact them after about 5 days on the website, and it is in no way my resposibiltiy to know this, it is they're responsibility as a company to let they're customers know over the phone, especially if they have the'yre transmission. And you know what, Yes I do expect it to go smoothly. I paid a lot of money for it to go "smoothly" I don't expect anything but. You can sit there and say "thats life" but for someone not to say my tranny has already been shipped when it really hasn't and not even send me an invoice or even a tracking number is un-professional. Well did it ever occur to you I was calling 20 times just in case for some crazy reason they answered the phone? I mean call me crazy but sometimes it happens. And if they did answer the phone, well then ****!! I might find out what was going on and I might be able to help and expedite the shipping process!!!

Sorry to hear about your troubles and i can only imagine the sh*t you've got to go thru and put up with.

I would suggest you contact one of the EVO members in Kalamazoo, MI to go check out their place and see if they can get a hold of someone.

Try searching for people here in the midwest forum or try www.mievo.net

good luck

TRE will take care of you. John had a death in the family. It was unforseen. PLEASE be patient with him at this time.
They were on vacation but a close family member took a turn for the worst while on the vacation.
I can personally guarantee you he will take care of you.
He has always come thru.
This is a difficult time for him and he will get everyones product out.
let me see if I can get in contact with him tommorow

Wow, I must say I kinda feel like a dick now but I didn't know that this happened, its obviously the worst possible thing that could have happened to make Jon not respond to my calls or e-mails. Tell Jon I give him my condolences and I am sorry for his loss but that is what Ming is there for, to carry out his duties if he cannot. It would be greatly appreciated if you could do this for me, I am very grateful for your assistance. Thanks.

When it comes to fixing a TRANS, TC you should always asks to others customers or make a thread about how long it could take? , am sure your not the only customer John at TRE has!! Specially now that is the racing season, now by posting a negative thread it’s not going to help you or make Jon do your tranny faster ,it will probably slow the process I don’t think any body like to work or do something for someone how’s pushing or talking trash without knowing what’s the hold up !!!! Be patient!! He will e-mail you or call when he gets cut up!!!

PS My condolences to Johns family

Jon gave me a time frame of 5 days, not 3 weeks. Thank you and have a nice day.
