Guys,

I'm getting a cracking or grating sound in 5th. I put in a complete new clutch a couple months ago. Any suggestions as to what it could be?

 

who installed the clutch? could be your synchros...what year?

 

How long has it been happening....since the clutch install or just recently?

Have you checked your fluid level? What fluid are you using?

Is it a grinding sound only when you shift or all the time?

Is this different then the sound it makes when you grind gears?

Actually I just went out, popped the trunk and saw that my rear level was low. I'mm fill up later tonight or tomorrow. Will let yo'all know if that solves the prob.

FYI - clutch was installed by a garage. I have an evo 7 2001.

Your responses were so fast that I'm going to post another tread with some other problems that I need some help with.
