Mid West Pricing
I have actually been to 5 dealers in the Indianapolis area, not a single one even knew what they had. Its like they all sat there and were almost bummed that they had this rediculously priced Lancer on their lot. EXACTLY the reason the Evo was never brought to the states before now. It's a hoot.
However, they ALL are sold or are about to be, none for less than MSRP, but none over either. I'm gonna wait till the second allocation and swoop in on one of these silly dealer doods that has had one of these sitting for a week and buy under sticker. I got just the dealer in mind...six allocated and a GM who is clueless.
BTW, I sat in several and noticed some pretty serious build quality problems. The passthrough for the harness seatbelts come to mind, as the trim will pop right out and 2 were already missing. Plus the dash materials are extremely cheap, the ventalation controls are inexusable for even a regular Lancer.
The stereo is quite good though, I was surprised at the sound for such a pedestrian looking head unit. The aluminum hood is light as hell, and the shifter feels like it is mounted in concrete, very solid...I rememember the old Eclipse cable shifter, it is NOTHING like one of those. Oh ya, and the trunk is HUGE, becuase of the rear 1/4's being flared
The driver parts are very, very right in this car...its gonna take a serious driver to want one, cause you get only a few perks besides the hard core driving machine itself.
