I would get an exhaust and a flashed ECU. You would probably still have $ for an intake, or BOV, or even a nice set of springs.

Flash/Cat delete/Boost controller/boost gauge

Then go budget yourself some coilovers with the 1000 left over

My first mod was a 3" TBE, then I got a MBC with gauge. Then followed by an intake, fuel pump and TT tune Exhust and MBC combo would be good for your first mod, you wouldn't need a tune yet untill you add an intake, fuel pump, cams or somthing along those lines.

Here are my mods in order of doing them:

1. Penzoil Syncromesh tranny fluid--$6 per quart
2. Invidia Cat-Back exhaust--$360
3. Clutch restrictor mod--Free
4. Spare set of OEM wheels for the track--$350
5. Progress rear 27 mm adjustable sway bar--$145
6. K&N drop in filter--$55

I have the following on order:

1. JIC down pipe. Make sure you get a DP that fits an 05 w/o any rattling. JIC is known to fit.--$259
2. UR HFC. You must have a cat in CA--$145
3. LPI test pipe with O2 bung. You will need that for the wide band O2 tester later on--$79
4. RMR lower tie bar. You will need this when you install a 3 inch dp and do not want to use spacers for the stock tie bars. The stock bars are wimpy anyway and need to go--$139
5. Perrin rear endlinks to replace the wimpy stock ones. The 27 mm bar will twist the stockers like a twig--$114
6. Greddy counter weight shift knob.--$37
7. Goodrige SS brake lines.--$98

Mods to come:

1. Xede piggy back ECU with two maps: 91 octane map for daily driving and 100 octane map for the road course
2. Toyo RA1s 255/40/17 race tires
3. JIC FLT-A2 suspension or Buddy Club Race Spec suspension.
4. Road course front brake pads

All my mods except one (Greddy knob) are functional and designed to get the car ready for hotlapping on the road course. I do not need an MBC for that. most people turn down their boost on the track anyway.

Boost gauge, boost controller, exhaust, and flash. Check out AMS or Buschur staged upgrades, you can’t go wrong with them.

I would get an exhaust and a reflash, for sure thats the best way to spend your first 1500 dollars.
