besides that, a civic or focus svt is a perfectly rad daily driver!

back on topic, i really don't get why people vent to atmosphere. do they know that you loose a bit of power? do they understand how a MAS looses that air that gets vented and it causes problems?

I've seen a srt-4 crawling through the mall parking lot and rev up when he saw me and then make like a loud popping noise. i just rolled my eyes and gave him a thumbs down.

SRT drivers usually stay quiet or come by and praise my car.

This one guy told me how bad he hates his SRT-4 and it was fully customized!

He said he can't stand the front wheel drive and he is getting so sick and tired of his car, you know the cluthes for the srt-4 is like 200 dollars..


I found out later on he's trading in his fully modded srt-4 for a used Evo GSR!

I never had a problem with none of them... beside my BOV is louder

 

ive seen alot of srt 4's with cut exhausts (i think because i cant see them and they are really loud)

 

Contrary to popular belief, not EVERYONE knows what an EVO is (Even the salesman I spoke to yesterday). Not everyone has watched fast and furious. They dont all know its AWD and turbocharged.

These threads are getting old. Also, i know just as many EVO owners that VTA ALL the time just to get attention. Its not just the SRT drivers. I wouldnt be so asinine to think that all Evo owners are perfect, and all SRT owners are dumb.

 

I know people bring it up all the time, but the visual of an Evo owner rolling up next to a SRT-4 at a light and saying "Hey man watch this!" and rolling his back windows down made me laugh.

I do notice that SRT-4's are really good at giving the BOV salute. That must be one of the first mods they do, because going VTA on a Mitsubishi usually makes our cars run crappy.

Their BOV's are really loud and obnoxious. The last one I heard was like a cross between a rotating sprinkler on its return pass and one of those pod racers from Episode I.

 

I VTA, but i never boost and let off just for attention, for the most part i granny shift until i get on a country road or interstate. I've seen a lot of Jackass Evo drivers as well, but the SRT drivers seem to use the BOV as a tool of Intimidation towards other sports car drivers. the Reason being is dumb *** movies like the F&F. People think they can buy any turbo car put a BOV on it and be fast when their really not. The SRT is a quick car but it is not even in the same class as the Evo. i would never buy one b/c FWD=tourqe steer= ****ty Track or AutoX car. Anytime one asks me to race i just tell him to come to AutoX. I've taken down SRT's with suspension upgrades and slicks when im running stock suspension w/ street tires. The Bottom line is, its not that great of a car, and there are a lot of young punks who drive them with no driver skill, no respect for saftey on the street, and no respect for other cars

 

Much of what you just said could also be applied to EVO drivers as well. Im not trying to bash, but its funny when EVO owners start bringing this up every other week - like it really is going to make their life miserable if one more SRT blows off.

F&F? Remember what car was in that movie? Yes, the SRT is cheaper so you have many young punks getting one and getting a BOV (most of which couldnt point out ANYTHING under the hood). However, I have seen just as many stupid EVO drivers as well - who think its some kind of super car that has nothing wrong with it at all.

Lets not talk about the SRT clutch - pretty sure there are many threads on this forum about the Evo clutches going out really quick.

You guys seem to lump everything into one category or another - like you cant see outside of your little box. Not all SRT drivers are stupid, not all SRT drivers are smart. Not all evo owners are stupid, not all evo owners are smart.

When will these threads and the hate ever die?


You guys really let the SRT in specific get to you, and that shines through in all of these threads (after all, there arent any threads about hondas doing the same, etc). SRT's are good for what they are - Evos are good for what they are. In the end...

Evo > SRT

 

These comments crack me up the most. Are we all 14 year old spoiled kids or something? Not everyone has things handed to them - some have to work for what they have. Its quotes like these that show the maturity of some evo owners (which is NO better than the SRT owners you are complaining about)

Ok, now step out of your little 'evo is God of all things automotive' box. What about drivers of Ferraris, I bet they sit around and say "Poor Evo people...not everyone is as fortunate as us...leave them be already"

Some of you guys really need to grow up, and also shrink your egos just a little bit...geez...

 

I don't even think you read i thing i've posted, This has been a debate ever since i've had my first evo 2 years ago. i am a performance enthusiast driving the car for the sheer joy of driving, not to impress other people and get into debates about this. but it is true, i did say there are jackass evo drivers out there too. it doesn't matter what car was in the movie its the SIMPLE fact that everyone who buys a turbo car knows it is capable of a BOV. so the young crowd thats out to impress which is mostly SRT drivers will put them on there car and drive like a jackass.
