Second Shipment

Big Two in Mesa, AZ is getting another 4 EVO's at the end of March. Also, sell all their cars at MSRP, inculding the EVO.
It may make sense for Cali residents to drive over here...

Do you know how the sale is supposed to work? I called them and they said that they can't sell me the car without a valid AZ address.

I'm sorry, that really sucks.
I did not know that there were residency restrictions.
I know that the state of AZ requires out of state residents to to register thir cars in AZ or face heavy fines. I don't know if they may require dealers not sell cars to out of state residents for that reason...

No, they didn't care about selling to someone out of state. They just said that to legally sell the car to me, I needed to get an AZ address to put on the paper work (not a P.O. Box).

Each state has specific laws about registering a vehicle, but any dealership can sell to anyone regardless of what state they live in. This is done by what is called a "certificate of origin". This allows the buyer to get a vehicle in any state and the responsibility of registration is placed upon the buyer not the dealership. There are different forms required per the DMV of each state. Most states have a website that these forms can be downloaded for the consumer. The vehicle registration clerk at any dealership will be able the best point of contact on that. I hope this little bit of info helps out some.

I wonder if there are any states that still have the "soldier's exemption" that waives paying taxes for Military members? Not to show my age but back in 1982 while I was in Denver, I did not have to pay state taxes in CO. I think they have changed the laws there now.

AS far as the emissions go, the EVO is 50 state emissions control. The same car is sold in CA as in PA and every other place. What limits could the state have and why would the state you buy the car in make any difference?
