NOPI Drift, Show and EVO pics
You sure that's a '72??? I'm pretty sure they only made them from '64-'68, and acouple leftovers were sold as new a little after that, but I'm pretty sure none were in 1972.

Im almost positive that is what the owner told me, but I may be wrong. I do remember for sure he told me it was the rarest of them, and they only made 500. I think he also said somethign about it being a "re-release" of the car by new designers. He said one of the designers was also a BMW designer (hence the front headlights and grill).
Nonetheless it is an amazing car

The funny part was me and the editor for the magazine I was shooting for were both like OMG that is too funny. We were taking photos of it as a joke for a "Best of the worst" section since a good number of the cars at nopi this year were so bad they were funny. Ther eis a pic of the guy that made the car acting all proud of his work... And there is another one of the guy with all his friends. It was SSOOOOOOOOO hard ot keep a straight face while taking the pics.
As for my ride along... It actually happened by fluke. I was walking by the BFG booth inside the speedway and one of their guys saw my press pass and asked me who I was shooting for.
Then he told me that they had ride alongs scheduled for every drift session and they were booked solid two weeks in advance.
Apparently the Import Tuner guys had to leave early so they invited me to fill their spot.
PURE LUCK! BUT SOO AWESOME!
