Mitsubishi service dept is scaring me!

I just got my car last week and the car needs an alignment. Since I bought the car an hour from my house I called my local dealer to get an alignment. Called the first time and the lady says our Mitsubishi mechanic is out today but he'll call you tomorrow. Only one mechanic at a dealer? So no call the next day and I call back and talk to him. He says why didn't I drive back to the dealer when I realized it was pulling and I explained it was already 8:00 at night and I didn't think it was a big deal. Finally he agree's to do an alignment in 2 WEEKS! Say's to bring it in around the beginning of October and hangs up. No name, time, or anything. Is this normal of low end Japanes car dealers or what? I wouldn't think I would get a loaner car right? I mean I am used to Lexus, Mercedes, BMW, where my *** is kissed and I'm given fresh fruit and coffee when I pick up my loaner. I doubt I will even get a Coke and a smile from Mitsubishi...

damn that crazy, whenever I go to my service department, let alone the sales floor, I have 4 of the salesman that I know come up and talk to me and ask me if I need any help. Then, since I work at Circuit City, I get a dealers discount.....very nice...

Try a different dealer. You are getting the runaround.

Haha... I can suggest one thing to you for sure. Get unsed to what you are used to. The EVO is my first and most lilkely the last Mitsu I have. I love the car, hell a lot of fun but not sure if dealing with Mitsu is a worthwhile tradeoff for me.

if he treats you like this, how do you think he'll treat your car?
find a good alignment shop, pay the $x00 bill & consider it an extended warranty, since you've probably increased your EVO's life expectancy by not bringing it back to the dlr.

I can honestly say that my dealer treats me great. Although after they looked at my tbe they said they would still inspect it because it still has a cat. But the funny thing is, I don't have a cat. So I said "Uhh yeah, its just under the heat wrap." The fact that they didn't know the cat had been removed would make me nervous to ever get any serious work done in the service shop. But as for service, very, very good!

Yeah...pay the $60 or $70 buck for a REAL alignment shop to do it. That mechanic sounds like he has **** for brains.

The dealership I bought my Evo from is great but they are located more than an hour from where I live. The local dealership does all my "scheduled" free service. They suck. Everytime I go in there's a different service manager. They always leave black scuff marks from their work boots all over the door sills of my white Evo. And when I brought it in for a 10k mile service and tire rotation they didn't even bother to tell me that my front tires were bald on the inside before they rotated them. I discovered that 2500 miles later when I brought the car in to get a flat tire patched and the guy pointed out the early signs of wear from a bad alignment on the front tires and the advanced state of wear on the back tires. Those Advans aren't cheap. If the f*ckwad at my local dealer had said something to me when he did the tire rotation I could have got an alignment and saved myself the cost of 2 new tires.

Sometimes its not really Mitsu man, its the people who work there. I had something like that a couple of days ago. I had to fight just to get some speakers. They're stupid *** workers. It was a big *** rattle in the front speakers and 2 middle eastern dudes said they couldn't hear it. I swear it was so obvoius then fianlly some Mexican dude name Gary said he'll help me and fix it. Thank you border brother but other than that those Mid-eastern people were all lazy asses. No offence to the mid-eastern people here but those dudes were lazy. One of them said I didn't even have an appointment when I made one with him the week before. I heard he got in trouble for lying to the GM of the dealer. hahahaha loser, still waiting for my speakers. First and last Mitsubishi car I ever buy too

My evo pulls like crazy, and I have had it aligned. This is typical of cars with stiff suspensions. They will tend to drift with the slant of the road.
