Lightbulb 6 Speed

Is it possible, Is it worth it, How much.

Would it be possible and cost efffextive to swap in a 6 speed out af a JDM model for the cruising aspect. Lower RPM's on the highway. Higher top speed.

Thank you

Not cost effective in the slightest. Not worth it.

How's that?

I wouldn't think swapping a tranny would ever be cost effective would it? (for your "average" owner anyway)

How much are they? I just LOVE the shorter gears in my WRX with the STi 6 speed! The only thing is, my gearbox is JDM, and therefore it is low geared on the highway. The Euro spec gears are supposed to be alot taller. I am thinking of going with a Euro 6th for highway driving.

If it isn't too much...I would say "GO FOR IT" and get the 6. I am sure that they are very rare at the present time though!

Your current 5-speed on your evo could be stronger. 5th gear is actually really long. If i were you i'd just wait and see if there are positive feedback from 6-speed owners.
