"drill it out"
I just bought a Weapon-R engine damper to help improve the shift feel on my Evo. Went to go install it today, and the bracket that fits on top of the strut tower doesn't fit onto the studs. The spacing of the holes on the bracket is off just enough that it won't fit over the three studs.
So I called Weapon-R customer service, and they asked me to send a picture of the bracket not fitting onto the studs, and that they'd send a new one right out. Well a little later I get an email back from them saying "drill out the holes so that it fits".
Should I be pi$$ed about this? I just got into modding cars now that I have my Evo, and this is one of the first things I'm doing to it, but I guess the response I got just put me off. I also race bicycles, and if I ever get a bike part that's not to spec, bike companies send out a good part right away because new parts should fit and work correctly right out of the box, no matter how simple that part is. Is this too much to ask in the auto industry??

I would be pissed if it is a "bolt on" it should bolt on plus if you drill the holes the structure of the piece is not as strong my answer is to call them back and tell them "**** that I want a new one"
I work for OEM and we control everything to the point that some people don't even believe. There are detailed spec and drawing for everything you can imagine on a car.
Definitely, Weapon-R is not OEM so they can do whatever they want to do.
Try to buy a performance parts from the company that has a good reputation.
Price you pay=Quality (most of the times)
This is just my $0.02
